all dance is pointless....and then, it is not. i think butoh is a perfect dance for our time. it is a post-apocalyptic art form seeped in tradition

Yep, that's right.
The techniques of Butoh are about just following the impulses of the body without censoring or directing it, which distinguishes it from german expressionistic dancing/ Ausdruckstanz, though it looks quite similar.

Butoh seems to follow and idea of allowing the body to roam free almost. :-/ I feel as if when I am watching him he let's his muscles speak.
