Thanks for this great review. I own a T5 LTD and a loudbox 100, luv em both. My dad loves em too and plays them as much as I do! when I go electric I go through a Jet City JH20, I can get some buttery overdrive with that setup. I've owned an Ovation, a Taylor 310ce, a Parker Fly, and I like the plugged in acoustic tones of the T5 LTD much more than any of them (even the 310ce). I like the fact that it doesn't use piezo pickups to get its acoustic tones. Piezos sound "itchy" to me.

I have the Loudbox Performer, guitars include Taylor 710CE, Guild D40, Ovation, Ibanez Montage, Gibson J-45. I love the way they sound on that amp. I have not tried vocals on the amp [maybe I should !], but I can't imagine it being bad, as Fishman makes great stuff. Probably the quality of your mic would be more concern ? Effects on the amp are subtle, good thing, I think, as I think too much sometimes detracts from your sound. A little can go a long way. Good luck SharkyPLUR !

I have a question. I am thinking about buying the Fishman Loudbox Performer. How do you think it will perform compared to the 100? I am 17, a younger musician and I just need something to work from when I move place to place to perform. I am thinking of working solely on the amp itself instead of connecting it to an external PA. How do vocals sound on it? Sorry, you seem a lot more experienced than all of the other musicians on here so that's why I'm asking.

I am getting the t5 ovangkol next year I can't wait
I have a couple SM58's and the Loudbox sounds amazing for vocals and guitars. Another fun thing is to plug your iPod into the Loudbox and use it as a mini sound system or just use the iPod to learn songs. The sound is beautiful.
Have you seen the new 60 watt LoudBox Mini for $299 cash? I've played one - nice. Fishman is going to take a lot of business away from the cheapo acoustic amp manufacturers with the Mini. The Nimi is a home run at $299. I played one at Guitar Center....nice!

The Loudbox 100 is very loud. I have entertained large rooms of people with it and still had room to turn it up louder. The small size is great. I can fit the Loudbox and two guitars and a mic stand in the trunk of my car. I would even consider the new Loudbox Mini at $299. I've tried one and it was really nice.

Thanks....it was part of the Fall LTD series a couple years ago and it cost less than a gloss T-5. I think that a lot of people like s the lack of binding and lack of gloss because this construction is a standard now. They brought it back.

I really think that what they left off of this guitar makes it beautiful.
No gloss, no body binding, no f-hole binding....just honest wood.
Honest wood is good....I like satin finish. I like to be able to feel the woodgrain. I like Larrivee 3's and 200 series Taylors and I LOVE my Martin D-15.
I see glossy shiny T-5's all the time and I like mine better. Just my opinion.

Elixer Strings are ok.
I Prefer D'Addario EXP coated strings because the have more bass (to my ear ) and they have an elastic quality that I love for fingerstyle.
EXP's cost nearly $3.00 less per set.
I have played D'Addario strings in general for 30 years...I like the way they feel.
EXP's sound better, feel better and cost less than Elixers (just my opinion).
Have a great day, John
