You set sail for open lands and I'll stay here a lighthouse bravin' storms waiting for my keeper's warmth
I waited weeks, to see your homebound bow, and as you moved ahead I stood taller than before

I shone my light out bright, as rocks blend in with night, waves beat at my walls, standing strong
But I stood tall, my light never waned, guiding ships into the shore safe and whole

You landed on my shore your foot steps to my door. You let yourself right in, l as you've done before
