My friend Elizabeth invited me to her birthday party.
Please bring food, NO MEAT!! So I asked if I could use
bacon as a substitute. Who would have known my favorite
condiment was actually a meat product. Any way here is
my vegetarian invention.

2 heads of cabbage
6 beefsteak tomatoes
1 can of peas
1 can of corn
1 package of mushrooms
1 onion
1 bell pepper
1 1/2 cup rice
Italian seasoned bread crumbs
tomatoe juice 2qt
butter
oliove oil
spices as desired

Follow video instruction
for preperation. Enjoy :-)

  • looks good; definitely going to give it a try. thanks for creating vegetarian and for sharing it. great job.

  • @deedevinebrake Let me know how it comes out for you. I love the feedback.

  • @insightnew These came out so good that today I am making them for the second time. This recipe is amazing and I love the fact that your generous enough to show what a great results comes from just that extra bit of work. Delicious.

  • @deedevinebrake I'm realy glad you enjoyed it. It's one of my all time favorites. I grow most of the ingredients in my garden and make it 3 or 4 times per season. The family gets tired of it. For some reason I never do :-)

I may have to do another cooking video. This was surprisingly popular!

  • Are you vegetarian yourself?

  • Oh no! I often eat a pound of bacon as a snack. My friend is a vegetarian and I needed to invent something for her birthday party. I modified a dish I usually make with ground beef. Instead of blending the corn peas and mushrooms, simply use ground beef for the non vegi version.

  • i use a steamer to soften up the leaves otherwise it's easy to over cook cabbage.

  • @insightnew Great job of explaining a good sounding/looking receipe. My wife is a vegetarian and I will give this a try after the 95 degree humid weather of southeast mssouri is over this fall. Also your cat is very cool despite his strange ways. We have five. Take care

  • @phillippatterson1 That cat eats left overs like a dog. I've never seen an animal eat so much and stay so skinny. He steals food from plates, opens cabinets, pizza boxes, garbage cans, and even the oven door if it's cooled down enough. He hisses at people in the hopes that he can scare them from their food.

  • Kitty wants some cabbage! Meow............
