At its Monterey Auction in August, Mecum sold more than 200 classic cars, including the 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe. The Shelby sold for $7.25 million, the highest price ever paid for an American car at public auction.

  • there were 6 of these made i think.,,, from design to drivin in 90 days..and blowing the then top ferraris out of the water,,,,but ford had so much $ tied up into the reg cobra refused to subsidize these anymore so they were stranded for a while in europe...an amazing car
