  • by the way, your skin is flawless. =]

  • i love this video and thank you so much for talking about this. i feel like i've been called to want to have locks for the right reason now and hearing someone say the same thing that i've been afraid to tell someone else gives me hope.

  • Your locs are beautiful, I start my journey August 4th. I haven't had a relaxer in 7months and I feel better than ever, it took me a minute, but I love my natural hair.

  • i thought it was spelled "dread" and "lock"? im sorry iim always curious about things...

  • Great message.

  • Most in my Rasta community do not like their locs refered to as 'dreads' and also refer to the locs as..well...locs or just call them Ras.

  • Dreads...there are two opinions

    1. (positive) they fear God the most...the devoted.

    2. (negative) 'dread'ful as thought by the settlers.

All that said...who cares. No one defines you but you. I refer to mine a locs, but that's just my preference.

    Jah Bless.

  • technically dreads are the process of not combing or brushing your hair and letting your hair loc on its own, as how Rastafarians loc their hair. Locs include the process of retwisting and styling locs "neatly" which is more prominent amongst people who choose to loc

  • they refer to the same process but the connotation and origin of "dreads" are offensive to many.

  • dreads and locks are the same thing
