@jennaluvshorses Yeah it would be nice if people who couldnt afford to take care of horses properly didnt have them. Unfortunately, telling people "if you cant afford to take care of it you shouldnt have it" isnt going to stop them from owning one. sorry.

How is this solving anything?! EVERY horse has the RIGHT to live as we do! Killing them labels humans as what?! Superman?! NO! KILLERS!! Would you kill your own child because you can't afford it? or would you give it to someone who can?! & WHY Focus on controlling the horse population when we can be focus on Killing off more humans coz We're clearly over-populated!

Oh this is pissing me off! horses dont deserve to be slaughtered the way they are being slaughter now! There should be a rule that 50% and under for there health is okay to be slaughter but any higher is just SICK! Why would someone slaughter a healthy horse?!! Yea I understand if you can't afford Euthaniasing them but you should have been prepared for all that... anways and another thing horse slaughter is nessecary if you put them to sleep before slitting there throats while there breathing!

Even though horse slaughter is illegal in America, it is still legal in Canada and Mexico. Regardless if it's illegal here, the horses that go to auction can still be bought by meat buyers, and endure a long trip to Canada or Mexico and the slaughter trailers that were not meant for horses. I think banning horse slaughter in America was stupid, as they are still being slaughtered else where, but have to endure a long trip to a different country in terrible conditions.

I liked the video, though I don't like the idea of slaughtering horses it is no diffrent then slaughtering a cow. I own a riding cow that I love just as much as my horses, they are no diffrent then horses they love you just as much and are just as smart yet we eat them. I feel slaughter is needed but I feel the slaughter houses need to be watched more closly and made sure things are being done right, not just with horses but with all slaughter animals.

Basically. Here are the issues. 1. QUIT BREEDING HORSES! we don't need anymore horses in the world. 2. Make slaughter HUMANE! Just put them down without pain or suffering. Are we to lazy to do that? Feed them, let them graze, kill one by one and show them love

I don't know about privately owned horses, but I do know that wild mustangs are not starving. I've watched wild horses many, many times; those "gathered" were not starved. I've seen at least one that was starved, but I contribute that to either a medical problem or just life in the wild.

So yes, my facts are plenty straight. I know what these horses go through from first hand experience. And though my horses receive only the best care, im sick of looking at my window seeing my neighbors horses starving to death every single day knowing there is not a damn thing i can do.

I know this because i have seen it. I live in an area where lots of people go to these auctions, buy 10 horses or so, bring them home, and then i drive by everyday watching them waste away to nothing because the owners dont feed them and cant afford to. Ive called the SPCA many times but they dont do much... why? because they have nowhere to take the horses thats any better.
You are just proving my point by saying you see starving horses at auctions. THATS EXACTLY WAHT IM TRYING TO SAY!
I just would like to say thank you very much for creating this video. It has really inspired me. I am a horse lover, but I do realize that the cruel life for a horse is never going to end. I would rather they be shipped to a slaughter house in the US and make it a quick death than suffer. Very nice video. Thank you again. We need to make everyone else understand.

AQHA breeds approximately 150,000 horses per year...maybe they could take a hiatus? Horse slaughter is BIG business. Just like the illegal drug trade. Just like child prostitution.... You have a horse, he ages, you put him to sleep, make that part of the budget. OR don't get one, until you've saved that. Breeders can pay into a Euth fund every time one lands on the ground. By the way, horses live 25-35 years. If you are on the fence, there are alot more things you should want to know.
