@Crunchy68 Horseshoes is a very individual thing. It depends on the hoof conformation and work. If the horse never leaves soft ground (big or small) it doesn't need horseshoes. All horses are a big commitment, lots of money involved and potentially 30 years of care. All horses need basic grooming but care should be taken not to overgroom outdoor horses cos you'll take the oil out of the coat. It's better to look through a number of horsecare books and sites before making a decision on any breed

Does a Shetland take a lot of time to care for? They look like they need a lot of brushing. Do they need to wear horseshoes like big horses do?
