@TheSevenCamels Shatners overacting is what made the show so great when some of the epsiodes were weak. It was just a different time.

Hmm, back when me and my dad watched Original Series episodes together, we used to think Shatner was a great actor. I suppose we were just wrong then.

Shatner's "overacting" is due to his theatre training. When he was in theatre productions, you had to over act back then to grab the attention of people in the back rows, away from the action. In "The Enemy Within" (The first transporter clip) the way he enters frame with his back to the audience and swivels round is a very theatre move, and something which makes you keep watching him.
I think he's a good actor tbh, imagine how boring Trek would be without him?
