The last performance by gay rock pioneer Dean Johnson at Low Life at the Howl Festival, September 8, 2007. The Low Life show, produced by The Jackie Factory NYC,
featured stars of the 21st century East Village in an homage to The Bowery's 150 years of great performances.
Dean played a Crooked Irish Cop, and performed his own "You Got It Goin' On" with vocals from Miss Mandy Lemons and backup dancers Lady K and Princess Jasmin.
Within two weeks, Dean Johnson would exit this world under very suspicious circumstances. Jackie Factory producers Chi Chi Valenti and Johnny Dynell post this video in remembrance of a great light now gone out in the NYC night sky.
Liked his performances & parties all over town through the years. His death should have been investigated more. Loved his lyrics! "Fuck Mary Tyler Moore!" Brilliant! RIP Dean ya big weenie!
