(c)1995 NFL; NBC--Comcast

For some reason, this didn't take the first time.

The Steelers' frantic drive continues, but disaster strikes once the Steelers' reach the 10-yard line.

On 2nd and Goal; Dennis Gibson nearly intercepts a Neil O'Donnell pass intended for tight end Eric Green. On 3rd and Goal; O'Donnell finds John L. Williams, who advances to the 3 yard line before Junior Seau makes his 12th tackle of the day.

Then came 4th and goal; Neil O'Donnell drops back and fires for Barry Foster in the end zone only for Gibson to break up the pass (thus ending the Steelers' Super Bowl hopes).

After the game, NFL vice-president Neil Austrian presents the Lamar Hunt Trophy to San Diego Chargers owner Alex Spanos and head coach Bobby Ross.

  • A young Rodney Harrison as a Rookie at 6:45 with the Chargers. Don't worry Rod, I predict that 8 years from now, you'll get your ring!!!!

  • why didn't they run so they could away from the goal line?

  • @pronkb000 Exactly. I just don't see 49-26 (and it wasn't even that close).

  • @cbaldwinjr I really can't fathom Pittsburgh actually beating the Niners, but yeah...the Chargers were probably the worst conference champs ever.

  • How the fuck did we lose this game, the worst loss i ever suffered from being a fan of the steelers, penguins, and pirates. We dominated them all game statisically and had the much better team. San Diego had perfect weather. It was63 degrees that day in mid jan you got to be kiddin me. Btw steelers d would of limited san frans scoring, rod woodson carnel lake, our front 7 was no joke, ricky watters would of got shut done and hot rod woodson would of contained jerry rice.

  • great memories from neil o'donnell....one bad pass....he brought great times in pittsburgh.....everybody make mistakes.....

  • I remember rooting for PIT cause I knew SD had no chance vs SF. Pit would've had a half a chance.

  • @chessarama Neil was actually alright. He gets a bad wrap because of that one bad game. Unfortunately, that bad game was Super Bowl 30. Collins is not the worst. Dilfer was. Ironically, they played each other.

  • It didn't matter who won this game because this season was the San Francisco invitational. The only team that had a prayer were the Cowboys.

  • @12322derek People say that Kerry Collins was the worst QB to play in the SB but I really feel that it was Neil. At least the Giants were playing against one of the best defenses in SB history.
