Really fantastic. As a new tabletop game convert (from video games) I found this to be incredibly fascinating. Thanks for sharing.

That was absolutely fascinating and I wish it was a part of the (Video Game) Game Development papers that I had to do for my Bachelor of Information Technology degree. Thank you so much for this! I've played alot of the Euro games, but not American games so seeing a comparison between the two was very enlightening.

When watching this video I just had finished studying for my exams for hours. And then your lecture got me taking out pen and paper and taking notes just like at uni. Amazing, your presentation was so informative it managed to get me studying again in my spare time. Thank you very much for posting this!

@TheDuqueW In the full description of the video above, you'll find a link to the text from the slides. (I can't post a link in these comments.)

I found this highly interesting, great talk Scott and thanks for sharing. By the way, BoardGameGeek lists Deduction games under Categories, not Mechanisms. You want to go through that list of Categories as well, because there is a lot of overlap in my opinion.

@YoksterMan Thank you for letting me know! That explains how I missed it!

for traitor/hidden roles I would have picked werewolf its more popular

@Medsas I did originally have werewolf on that slide. But as I reflected upon the talk, I realized that it's not really the same type of game as the other games in the presentation. I expect that I will do a similar talk at some point on party games, and that's where Werewolf will appear.
