  • What are you thoughts as to aftermarket regulator and motor for this repair?

  • @aaronr71 It is much cheaper but buy the german made after market parts.

  • My piece of shit x5 blew 2 window regulators simultaneously how does that happen???? this video saved me as follows... cost of regulators- after market dealer $400...( BMW Quote $905) 8 hours of my time.... (BMW Quote $150 per hour-Auto Classic Perth Western Australia)Thanks heaps big fella your a legend!!!

  • @BOLTbandpage Howdy Mate, This is a linkage related problem and is very common on these model Beemers. Either the linkage that allows you to open the door from out side is broke or came disconnected. Either way the door panel has to come off to lok inside to see what is broke or came disconnected. By the way thanks for the comments. Makes it all worth it to produce and publish these videos.

  • Hello -

My front passenger window wont open. From main driver module or from door module still wont open. Also when i close the car or open it ,,, car wont lock or unlock... Please help .- i have warranty on the car it is 2005 ... is it covered by the warranty ?!

  • @pisendar I am afraid the door panel has to come off first for a trained technician to see inside and run some tests. Do you have a after market mechanical break down warranty? If you do, you may want to read the terms and see if they cover the cost of repair. Some do and some dont. Read fine prints please.

  • I have the window (rear left) problems too my car is 2005 Bmw X3. Do you have the videos that show steps by steps how to replace window regulators. I come acroos lots of diffculties. Openning is easy...but ran into bumps on when removing regulator from the clips window. I got frustrated so saw the plactic off instead snaping which is very tough also in very careful don't want the glass break. The harder part is when clipping in window into new regulator. Please help!

  • Great video, thanks for sharing. Will try on my E39 530i. Hoping there wont be much difference between this video's X5 and my vehicle's front passenger door, is there?

    Again, thanks for sharing.

  • Wallace how do you get the window to line up with guide holes for removal if the the window wont go any higher to align...? thanks

  • Wallace, Would like to say a big thanks for this video. After hearing a pop in the drivers right door and window would not go up, was dreading taking to dealer or else and waiting. I googled and found your video, after watching the video, ordering parts online, overnighted, then receiving, i set my laptop up next to my x5 and followed your instructions, works like a charm. Perfect explaination for us shade tree mechanics, only took about 2ish hours.

  • Great video. Three questions: 1. Would the procedure be appreciably different for an '02 325i? 2. Do you find that you do more regulators or motors on these? 3. My BMW mechanic said that they do alot of these on E46s. Is that your experience as well? Thanks!
