An animated cartoon about touring in a trailer. Farmer Al Falfa and his dog take their new modern travel trailer on a vacation. The trailer is packed with push button gags and gadgets, including a cruising cafeteria and self-turning griddle cakes. Bees smell the breakfast and attack. Al Falfa is stung and he fights for his food. 1937. Footage from this subject is available for licensing from www.globalimageworks.com

  • Sad, even with a primitive sound, it would have been more amusing. I can't concentrate on completely silent films, even if they are made by D. W. Griffith!

  • Oriignally released in January 1937 (directed by Mannie Davis and George Gordon) as a theatrical sound film; this is the 1947 silent [w/intertitles] 16mm "home movie" reissue from Castle Films [they had the rights to release Paul Terry's cartoon library of the '30s for "home audiences"], later issued in the 8mm format, as well as 16mm sound.

  • Made in the tweenst years (silent/talkies: 1924-30) - pointless story, but impressive animation for the time.

  • This is a sound cartoon, I saw this as a kid on channel 8 connecticut, which you could pick up in New York. Around oh 1964-1965.

  • each show was released with Piano sheet for a person to play the music .... the original film was video only

  • Has sound ever been added to this video?

  • The year on the last frame is MCMXLVII. I take that to be 1947.

  • Absolutely splendid.
