Era culpa de la FIFA y de la entidad concacaf que Europa y Suramerica llevavan 15 de adelanto en el futbol a zona concacaf, solo fijense que los Europeos tenian un disparo y un contragolpe asesino : POlonia, Alemania, Hungria, Yugoslavia y no se advirtio de eso a nuestros equipos fueron mandados como carne de cañon

Mexico was in very bad shape in the 78 World Cup. The team manager got the absurd idea of keeping every player running and defending in the middle field and beyond, the forwards refuse to obey (including Hugo Sánchez) and disaster followed. There were two physical trainers quarreling each other, with different ideas of how to prepare the players. Also, the team was prey of an idiot phsicologist who got in the players' minds the idea that they were as good as the best of the world.
