@rubytrinity The reason that most medicines effects are not considered the placebo effect is because they are tested, measuring physical responses instead of peoples opinions on whether they are feeling better or not, in almost every case you cannot fix a physical ailment via a placebo, but if someone is not really in pain, or just thinks they are, a placebo most likely will help them, if they want to let it.

@OrangeTang666 surely what is gliby dismissed as teh placebo effect works both ways...skeptics say that the good effects of alternative medicine are due to the placebo effect. Prove to me that its not placebo effect at work when someone feels better for taking pills and pharma drugs....Wow, what is this placebo effect?  and why is it denigrated?

New science? This sounds very similar to Rene Descartes' take on Solipsism. Descartes was a contemporary with Newton who these people eschew.  Their postulation give rise to a conflict between ontology and epistemology to get around this problem they have invented their very own version of god. Wittgenstien went some way to refute this hypothesis using an old philosophical method called common sense.
