i read the abridged version of little women and it didn't cover the 2nd part, its in another book called "good wives". i had only read the first part and i thought jo would end up with laurie in the 2nd but my mom told me he ended up with amy. so i refused to read the 2nd part, just watched the movie. i still think it sux that the first part spends so much time building jo and laurie's relationship and then they arent together. the first book even ends with jo on a sofa and laurie by her side

I completely agree that Laurie and Jo were in love and would have been perfect together, but the book is based on Alcott's real life. She was Jo, and maybe that's just how things turned out

Ugh I HATE Amy and Laurie 2gether

@inconsolable24 same here!! I got really depressed too after reading the sequel

What's so great about pale faced, blood sucking Edward Cullen? He's not even worth mentioning.

I only watched this film once and i cried loads. Christain bales a great actor and he is incredibly hot. He doesnt really look any different from batman and thats years later.

i think that Alcott did this on purpose. because life isn't always full of happy endings just the way we picture them and Little Women is true to life. so as much as it breaks our hearts that Jo didn't end up with darling Teddy, isn't that how it may have really happened?

Love Jo's necklace at 1:00 - simple, yet so classically elegant!

@GrayTigerProductions I agree. I think Laurie was just so darn insecure after Jo rejected him, that he went to Amy because he already knew she had a crush on him. Grr! It makes me so mad. What was Alcott thinking when she wrote the book that way. :\

Laurie is perfect for Joe. Amy is NOT. Wtf, Louisa May Alcott. I've never understood that.
My honest opinion that Jo needed more worldly experience. However, the whole Amy/Laurie thing was bullshit. The only reason he went to her was because she was the last available daughter and he just wanted a family so badly. He even said he would be jealous of any of the girls' lovers. I think Laurie will and always love Jo but more than anything he just wanted to be apart of their family.

In the book, Laurie thinks:
"If I cant have one sister, I'll have the other"
Does that sound like love to you!?
Laurie LOVED Jo, and I know, if she tried a little, she would have as well. And its not just based on looks people, I read the book (s) before I watched the film, and both times I'd choose Laurie.
