Maligne Canyon, Alberta

This canyon decends to a total depth of 2400 feet. One can hike from the top, across six briges to where the canyon finally becomes flat land again. This water feeds Maligne Lake.

The hike is a total of 3.7kms (that's 2.3 miles for you in the US or the UK), one way. Parts of the hike down and back up are steep but there are stairs, natural and made. If you're worried about the walk, park a car at the sixth bridge. Otherwise, plan on a gorgeous 2.5 hour return trip.
