I had the worst breakouts of my entire life in the first three weeks of using my Clarisonic. I've always suffered from breakouts, but had no idea how bad the 'purging' phase with it really was. Like you, I was absolutely filled with dread at leaving the house (even with makeup on) - I literally didn't want to go to work or leave at all because my spots were so horrendous and the Clarisonic seems to cause really raised, painful spots. The good news is: it does get better (promise!) xx

@laboscy I think I've made it out the other side...the last 3 weeks have been horrible. I knew my skin would purge as I am spot prone but I didn't realise quite how bad it would be! I love using the Clarisonic though and won't be giving it up as I definitely think it's a long term skin saving product rather than instant results. Thanks for letting me know there is a light at the end of the tunnel!x

@emma21085 You're right, I, unfortunately, am also prone to spots so where some people experienced a minor breakout mine was full out war all over my face. I felt so revolting. I've since had 3-4 weeks of beautifully clear skin and now am getting breakouts again, particularly on my cheeks. I almost think it's best if I use my Clarisonic twice a day but I still haven't worked out what's best for my skin. I do absolutely love how squeaky clean and soft my skin feels though x
