Pink Friday Santa Maria - Karamitsos speech

Speech by Dr. Carol Karamitsos, M.D. Local parent and high school board member. Dr. Karamitsus addresses the crowd over 1000 supporters at Pink Friday rally in Santa Maria, California standing on the steps of the Santa Maria High Schools Ethal Pope Auditorium. California is ranked 48th in the nation in per pupil spending. We also rank 47th in the nation in average class size (46 states have an smaller class size average than we do). The $11.6 billion cut to education is going to mean huge changes in education. The 26,000 + pink slips handed out this March are just the beginning.
