I've still got my vinyl copy from 1968!

He's playing in Houston either in Dec or Jan.

Great Campbell track. It was an instant fave of mine from when I first heard it..

The Onion AV Club has a feature this week: "First Favorite Songs." I've been wracking my brain trying to recall which song I first took a strong shine to. This song is one possible candidate, although "Snoopy vs. The Red Baron" might be just as strong a contender.

This LP is still fairly easy to find, there's a whole load of his LP's with some amazing music that's far lesser known.

My parents had this album. Some of my earliest memories were of listening to this song and others with my little sister and without fail we would break the needle on the record player, put the LP back in its sleeve and hope they wouldn't find out it was us.

The Straight Life was written by Sonny Curtis, who also wrote "I Fought the Law" (covered by many artists but most notably the Bobby Fuller Four and The Clash) and "Walk Right Back" - Everly Brothers had a big hit with it. Sonny Curtis also wrote and sang "Love is All Around" , the opening theme to The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

Yeah, it's a great album, but it's a second hand one, and the quality isn't the greatest lol, I hope that I can find one that isn't as scrachy
