First off cool effect. But those girls are what went wrong with Halloween. They dont bother making an effort to dress up and they are rude little punks. Sad that this is our future.

So, I kept my hand over the video camera lens and had the mic volume turned down until I saw and heard someone approaching. Then I told people in the room to be quiet, turned up the volume, and after they rang the bell I pulled my hand away from the lens and said "Hey!" Since the camera was sitting on my monitor I could look RIGHT AT THEM and comment on their costumes, etc.

In the basement I sat in front of a black blanket. I put a small florescent light on the floor aiming up at my face. I was watching a small TV monitor with the security camera video on it, and I was listening to the audio with an earbud headphone. I placed a video camera directly on top of the TV so I could look at the TV and it looked outside like I was looking right at the people. I ran the video camera right into the projector, and I had a lapel mic running out to the speakers. (continued)

How I did it. Part 1. I taped a transparent projector screen to the inside of the door. I got this from a hollywood special effects guy. I placed a projector inside directly over the door with a mirror at a 45 degree angle to project down onto the door. I placed some computer speakers on the porch covered with leaves. I put the subwoofer in the milk box on the porch. I installed a security camera with audio about 5 feet above the door. (continued)
