No. He his problem is on the right. He would have severely diminished right leg abduction, but that's not exactly what we're looking at here. His right leg is planted, and thus it is his right glut. medius and minimus that would be keeping him from falling to his left. Characteristic sign of superior gluteal nerve lesion is falling towards the side opposite the lesion when the affected limb is planted.

I have this problem. It began after a hip revision surgery and is very debilitating. It causes spine problems over time.

If this test is positive, weakness in the gluteus medius or decreased innervation of the gluteus medius is indicated.
