  • You know, I'm not really a coffee connoisseur, so maybe I'm wrong in characterizing espresso as smoother and richer and less bitter than brewed coffee. I just know that I've had plenty of coffee beers that lack the clean bitterness of this brew, and I associated this bitterness with the cold-brewed iced coffee that I've made before.

  • Actually, the Kona you get east of the Mississippi is brewed in New Hampshire by Craft Beer Alliance (Redhook, Widmer, Kona, Goose Island).

My advice: don't put your score in the description box. It's kind of a spoiler.

Havent had anything by Kona yet but I've heard good things.

  • @Chad9976 Yeah, I did see the New Hampshire info on the label, but after I finished filming so it was too late to mention. That's interesting re: a beer like this that's using Hawaiian ingredients (Kona coffee). Seems kind of counter-intuitive to ship the coffee 6000 miles to brew it in NH. But I guess that must be cheaper than shipping the finished beer 6000 miles. Probably good advice on putting the score in the description. Think I'll stop doing that.

  • Hahaha, check back in 5 years :-)

  • Year round is the season for Pipeline Porter beer...i stock up in March and give this beer a 15/10 rating...nothing wrong with this beer if you like porter and coffee....the best.

  • Year round is the season for Pipeline Porter beer....my all time favorite beer to date....not one thing wrong with this beer if you like a porter 15/10 for Pipeline Porter...I drink it year year and stock up when March comes.....

  • Come on, Adam. It's way better than a 7.4. You hit the nail on the head with the summer/outdoor drinking appeal, which is probably why this was by far my favorite beer that I had at beerfest last year. Also, since straight espresso is generally more bitter than straight coffee, wouldn't an espresso based porter actually be more bitter than this one?

  • Very intriguing video. I think I'll go try some!
