From playing it on the old PS1, I think if you go out of the side entrance of the bit before you go up the back of the church, you won't have any more police chasing you for the whole level

Once I drove past the two first cars which is hard because they speed up when you try it but i managed to do it and in that point at 0:44 the red car came straight and crashed on me and i lost all my tires!
