Hiram Monserrate: Convicted Criminal Running for NY Senate

Hiram Monserrate, one of the leaders of the Albany Coup, was recently convicted of assault on his girlfriend after slashing her face with a bottle (the abused woman later recanted, so he was only convicted based on the video evidence.) The NY State Senate voted him out of office and is holding a Special Election March 16. And he's running in it on a new party line.
