When I try to fire the harpoon it just makes a clicking noise and nothing happens... What the hell do I do?

Can someone tell me how to save this game without it automatically deleting all the data after i turn the game off?

@MrMAHBOI1 At the end of each level, when it's tallying your totals, it will ask to save the game.
