Public safety officers from Natick, Framingham, Wellesley, Sherborn and Wayland took part in an active shooter training exercise, hosted by Natick PD and held at Kennedy Middle School.

You all do realize that military grade gear is used because it's military grade? As in, durable, combat-proven? If ever you need to decide what gear to bring into a potential combat situation, the military ought to be the first place you look.

@Heathh49008 SO much wrong with this statement. A)Many cops ARE former soldiers. B) Police are not shock troops. C) With the police force in the United States you ARE arming joe schmo...because they are the cops alot of times. D) Do you even know how active shooter scenarios play out?

@gat0rbball ... My point is, you keep people safe by arming them. Turning police into shock troops with toys and bad tactics does nothing but give them a neat outfit to waste tax dollars in, and help them feel like the soldiers they wish they were.

@gat0rbball ... You also said they are "the ONE group of people that is better armed than the criminals..." Really? Most criminals have one weapon and VERY limited experience with it. (The most notable exception being the North Hollywood shooters who avoided killing anyone and used their weapons for suppressive fire.) How many CCW carriers have 3-gun experience? How many carry an extra mag (at least) and use their weapon more than once a year for qualifications? (The average for cops.)

@gat0rbball Gosh, why would you need a gun? You should trust the police to keep everyone safe, that's what the cops and politicians want.

If you think you're the only person in the world with their CCW, you might want to open your eyes a bit. I shoot with enough LEO's to understand just how many are dirtbags. Give it time and you might learn the same thing. Those who seek power very rarely have the wisdom to wield it ethically. Police are the most common example.
