this battle was indeed a turning point
....one turning point out of many more to come

Carnage (I have German relatives one of whom fought at Stalingrad so don't take this the wrong way) and even your Generals, interviewed post-war, said that the Battle of Britain was the most important battle of the war. Had the Luftwaffe won, it would have been war over in Germany's favour.

it was the first battle entirely fought in the air. and iv gemany not england would haven won it... the war would have taken a realy diffrent ending

I still not get why the BoB is for most people hte most important Air Battle
What is the Battle in the Skies of Russia, the Pacific, or our brave german fighter pilots fights a desperate fight against much more numbered Allied Fighter and bombers. I dont want to make the German Airforce heroic, but it take a lot of guts to get into a 109 and attack 300 B17 with 3000 50cals firing at you!
The answer is simple: This battle was a turningpoint. For the first time one of the two agressive world powers was stopped. The seemingly unstopable german warmachine was not as unstopable as everybodý believed! That was the wonder of BOB.
As for the 3000 50 cals it is known, that in the real world they very seldom hit anything, but that did'nt stop the americans from claiming at least one downed german plane for each 0.50 firing out in the blue.

Thank God we didn't get Lord Halifax as prime minister in 1940, history would have been very different!
