I know I already mentioned it once...but I have to say again that I really like the music here, at least in the first half of the stage. Incidentally, neither of the songs are unique to just this stage alone, the first one being used for a later stage in Syfa's route and the second one also serving as the final stage's initial background music.

At any rate, I'm sure you noticed that the boss to this stage is a coward! It only fights long enough to rough you up a little and flees when the tide turns too strongly against it, instead trying to drown you so that it doesn't actually have to fight. Oh, the shame!

Once it begins to disappear, Trevor actually went on autopilot and did that jumping along to where he patiently waited for the water to rise around him all on his own...you know, instead of giving me control and getting out of there. Silly vampire hunters, how would they get along without the aid of a helpful influence controlling their every movement?

The best part about having Grant here is the ability to "short circuit" the paths you are otherwise intended to follow, wasting time climbing stairs located just a bit further than you wanted to go out of your way for. "Nah, we don't need to do all that, I'm just going to grab onto the ceiling here and pull myself up."

I'm not exactly sure what would have happened at the end there if I had missed my jump or waited just a bit longer...I'm honestly not sure I wanted to know, because if things continued on the way they had been going, things would not have been pretty.

  • I think it would be more accurate to say that I spent the earlier lives feeling out the stage a bit and after coming so far just to die, so I was in no mood to take so long just for it to happen again.

Usually if I get in that frame of mind, it's going to be short...usually a short trip to an untimely death, though.

Watching it again now, apparently Skeleton Soldiers are worth 300, Mermen 50, Bats 200, and White Dragons 0 points, although they can drop 100 point bags per bone segment.

  • I guess whatever points you miss out on in defeating enemies and whipping/stabbing candles as Grant is the time bonus you get at the end of the stage. It was interesting seeing how much faster you went through this stage than on your previous attempt.
