@grabit1 hi, yes, i own this movie but and remember many colorizations were lame, but a good one is worth it. The one I had seen, and they all seem to have been withdrawn, was good I thought. I guess another Duke and Ford film, "The Quiet Man" would be good in B&W, but the color is wonderful. I Love classic movies and most are in B&W. "They Were Expendable" is prob my fav WW2 film and I've seen them all. I have the book too. There was another plane by the way...

It's had several DVD releases, and they're all good. Because it endures.

tmj, thanks for posting the ending.. one of my favs.. I need to buy this dvd.. i'd like to find one of the colorized versions... looked good... OHHHHhhh, why did you cut it off so soon?... bad form..
