@KeNNeYg77 Goodwood is the same, surrounded by retards, but that's the residence of Chichester for you, they complained to the War Department during WW2 about the noise of the Spitfires.

The reason they have noise regulations is because some real smart people decided to move into houses and live next to a race track. They however did not like the noise living next to a race track because they are assholes.

wot a load of bollex!

Looks like those are Arrow aftermarket pipes. But still not that loud....? My Bonnie with classic pipes is much louder!!!!!

LOUDER THE BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Deer and other critters know your coming their way. Unless your with a piped Harley Davidson then let them take the lead! Now here is noise pollution.
-
@Westyrulz that's actually a common misconception, a driver will drown you out, due the noise. Similarly, riding with your brights on. Lane placement and lighter colored gear will make riders more aware.

106db is loud!

That's basically a stock new bonnie. Too loud? Sounds too quiet to me. My 70 is many times louder.

Noise regulations aren't all that stupid. Tracks wouldn't be allowed to operate if there weren't some kind of sound regulation due to neighbors complaining about all the noise coming from the track. Hell, some tracks would never get built without some regulation. The only reason the NHRA can allow Top Fuel dragsters to be as loud as they are is that A. they have a whole lot of weight on their side and B. motors that powerful would eat through mufflers like crazy.

@NOUFGT Loud pipes save lifes ;)
Can someone tell me why it needs to be loud? So it can be heard by other riders on the track? What?

It doesn't need to be loud, but it does need to breathe to get the best from the engine, a consequence of which is loudness.
There is a noise limit because the track can only produce so much noise in a year. The track day noise has to be limited, so the races can be as noisy as they want without exceeding the annual amount. The noise from oulton Park travels along way for some reason.
I had to stuff some gloves up the pipes to pass the test (then I took them out when the noise boys had gone.)
