The first scene of the boy in the trunk breaks the "rules" of the Kuleshov Effect. I hope your instructor corrected you.

It's simple. You have three different shots. The meaning of the whole film depends on the order you put those shots together. In this case you have a girl, a guy talking to another guy and then driving away and finaly the tied guy in the trunk. Put them in a few different ways and you'll get some different meanings of the film. That's the Kuleshov effect.

This is not a very good illustration of the Kuleshov effect. The girl's expression does not seem to show any different emotions based on the editing, because you are not leaving enough up to the viewer. Also, the order should not matter like you say it does. Not terrible, but you should put more thought into your work.
