For many people unable to have their own biological children, egg donation can be one way to become the parent of a child.

This short video, made as an assessed project by Medical Biochemistry students at the University of Leicester, picks up on some of the ethical issues associated with egg donation.

The film was produced by Paris Rafeian, Anna Ten, Ricky Trigg and Lyndsey Wright. The team were awarded good marks for their consideration of both the science and ethics of egg donation, but were penalised for much of the film being rather out of focus. Their use of ticker tape to provide extra information was good, but it passed rather too quickly across the screen and was therefore rather confusing, especially when the content was different to the issues being considered in the live footage.
