I killed a chicken to become reconnected with where my food comes from. and the emotions that are involved when taking a life.
I know its a long video but its worth watching it until the end.

Other than using a dull axe, you treated the animal humanely. This is exactly what I grew up on the farm learning how to do. We grew everything we ate, and sold off the rest. Anyone who thinks this is cruel has never had to do anything for themselves in their life.

More humane than any slaughter house I know of. It all looks so easy when you buy it from the supermarket already done for you! But the main thing it was raised to be eaten, and this was reflected in the conditions it was raised in. Unlike the farmers who just produce them in masses for nothing more than money

Here is an idea...SPEND $20 AND BUY A SHARP KNIFE!!!! You people have absolutely no respect for those animals.... Can you honestly not know that holding a dull axe 2 inches away from a chickens neck and dropping it is doing nothing but causing pain?

it sounds terrible but its always hard your first time you toughen up , just give the animal respect and dignity till its death, which you did good job! it is important to know where your food comes from.
