You have a fractured bearing in your alternator. By removing the air filter cover you over-heated your engine.
-
you'll lose power...because it is now drawing in hot air. You want cold air, which is the way the factory has actually designed it.
-
dude take off the muffler you'll get even more power
-
I did this to mine to. The tubing helps with power by bringing in the cold air but the warmer is much better for gas mileage.
-
That tubing is like a factory cold air intake and i believe it's actually better to leave it on, but i guess it's worth a try.
Belts are very easy to change and adjust on geo's.
I'm in the middle of doing a complet top end rebuild on a 96 1.3 metro rite now, it's like working on a toy. haha
Peace

youve got GREAT belts
if you want extra power you can get a 12 foot spoiler
if may have to go on with buck tape and bumjee cords but it gives that 45hp geo 1200 extra horse
-
should fix ur belt . sucking in hot air well kill you motor thats why theres pipping there to take in cold air
-
Now your engine will be sucking in hot radiator air.... really bad for power
-
well, at least you have a car.
-
@jmoyet swift has more horsepower stock.
i did the same to my geo and took the AC off since it dint work, you can just take the belt off during the colder weather when you dont need it, feels a lot stronger
