@EasyCompanyAirborne easy company DID NOT hold off the entire german army at bastogne firstly thats physically impossible and secondly thats not the way it happenned. 1st battallion 506th was placed further north in noville and the 501st was placed east of bastogne were most of the german army was approaching from. some companies in 1st battalion 506th had lost more people than the hole of 2nd battalion combined (easy company was in 2nd battalion)

@boxing238 Hi. I just found a video that my dad's cousin did. youtube.com/watch?v=vsdRR5uOSn
Y He predicted the rise of China. He was started off in the Phillipines and was mentored by Colonel Marshall, who he had great respect for. I don't know whether he had the honor to meet with the great Major Winters of Easy Company. I know he met Jack Kennedy, a naval hero of WW2. -
@boxing238 My dad's cousin was in the 18th. Most have never heard of the 18th - there you go. He was fighting in the Battle of Grave. He could have even had the great honor to have met some of the legendary heroes of Easy Company. It was Bastogne which was the key battle of WW2. Here Easy Company held the entire German Army. They were lead by the great Dick Winters, the best and most famous soldier of WW2.

@EasyCompanyAirborne theres other companies in the 506TH that saw more combat and took more casualties than easy company like able company in the first two weeks had lost 18 killed plus 56 wounded compared to easy companies 4 wounded and none killed even though easy companies cassualties wrose cosiderably as the weeks went on they still finished with an average amount of cassualties compared to other companies and the 501st had worse cassualties than the 506th

Thank you for sharing this! I have the HONOR to actually personally know 2 GREAT men who survived this cruel war. Vince Sperenza & Herb Suerth of 101st Airborne "E" Company. We have a great museum in Bastogne only about the 101st! Herb & Vince come visit us twice a year. The story's they tell.... o man... it makes you speechless! I will never forget what Vince said to me; He said "If my children and grand children would know what I've did, would they look at me the same way?" Amen.

@MuchoFunkie Sorry sorry sorry. I slam ass holes that slam my country by slamming theirs. "BUT"..... I usually go back and remove the comment a day later or so, so as to not insult other people from that country. I leave it long enough to nake sure they read it. Guess I forgot this one. It's gone now.
Forgive me, guess my mind is slipping.
AGAIN, SORRY SORRY SORRY A THOUSAND TIME SORRY ;-/
I've been to Denmark and love the place (almost as good as Germany)..;-P

@clovenrick Wow dude - I've never seen such an assault on the nationality of a person ever - And no, it was not only Danes who "whored" themselves to German's, it happened all over Europe, also in France. There was approximately only 12.000 Danish Volunteers in the SS, yet still a high number, but that hardly makes every kid nowadays decendant from the SS...
