Things Fall Apart Episode 11

***Friday night. Game time!***
Kendall, James, Carlos, and the rest of the team sat in the locker room, getting ready to go on the ice. They were facing The Devils, their biggest rivals. It would be the team's first game ever without Logan. They were all a little nervous. Besides Carlos, Logan was the smallest on the team. But he was quick and agile. The rest of the team kept him from being checked while he got the puck to Kendall. Now they had to switch it up and a kid named David was taking Logan's place. David was looking very nervous. As team captain, Kendall decided they needed some encouragement.
"Alright, everyone gather around!" he called. Everyone turned and looked at him.
"This is it. This is THE game. Yes, we are short one player. An important one. But I have faith in David. I know you can do it, David. We all can do it. So lets just go out there, and kick some devil butt."
"FOR LOGAN!" they all said at the same time and they skated onto the ice.

??? raced down the street towards the hockey rink. ??? phone kept going off but ??? ignored it. ??? had been watching the game on tv and had to go see it for himself. They couldnt be losing that bad. ??? had snuck out of the house. ??? showed the person at the door his athletic pass and rushed through. ??? ran into the locker room and threw his stuff down. ??? ran to where the coach stood and pressed against the glass, watching as Kendall got slammed into, AGAIN.
"Mitchell?" the coach exclaimed. "What are you doing here?! I thought you were in the hospital!"
"I was released this morning. You gotta let me out there, coach," Logan said.
"Go change! Hurry!"
Logan raced into the locker room and quickly changed. He put his helmet on and hopped back over to the coach. When the coach spotted him, he yelled,
"DAVID! GET IN HERE!"
David skated over. "Your here!" he exclaimed when he saw Logan. "Help them! Were losing 3-0! Kendall cant keep safe long enough to score!"
Logan raced onto the ice.

Kendall saw the player out of the corner of his eye. He knew he was going to get checked AGAIN if he didnt speed up. But he was no Logan. He didnt have the speed. Just as the player reached him, Kendall watched as someone checked the player out if the way. Kendall shot and scored.
As cheers errupted from the crowd, he tore off his helmet and turned to see who had saved him. The player skated over to him and took his helmet off to reveal Logan.
"LOGAN!" Kendall shouted and hugged him. "What are you doing here?!"
"I got released this morning! Now come on, lets finish this."
Logan skated over to Carlos, who practically squished Logan in a bear hug. James waved at Logan excitedly from where he was in goalie position.
"Back to the old plan," Logan said. Carlos nodded and quickly spread the word throughout the team.
Logan immediatly got the puck and the whole team began to protect him as he made his way to Kendall. He passed it quickly and Kendall scored again. 3-2. One more and they were tied. Logan once again quickly got the puck. As soon as he passed it, he was checked into the glass so the puck didnt go strait to Kendall. Kendall still managed to get the puck and score. The person who had checked Logan helped him up.
"Patrick?" Logan gasped. (remember Patrick? the kid who beat Logan up when he was little?)
"Watch your back," Patrick warned. "Next time it will be ten times harder." He skated off.
Logan adjusted his jersey and skated over to his positition. He got the puck from the other player and started skating towards Kendall. Kendall was suprised by the speed that Logan was coming towards him at. Then Kendall noticed the other player coming after Logan. Logan noticed too and started skating even faster. When he realized he was going to get hit no matter what, he passed to Kendall. The goalie wasnt expecting Kendall to have the puck yet so Kendall quickly scored. The game was over. They had won!
Kendall turned around just as Logan was slammed into the glass. Logan bounced back and knocked the player who had checked him down as well. The kid tore his helmet off and pulled Logan to his feet.
Logan looked at Patrick, wondering what he was going to do. He was suprised when he held out his hand. Logan hesitently shook it.
"Good game," Patrick said.
"Yeah...you too," Logan said. Patrick skated off. Logan took his helmet off. Suddenly him and Kendall were lifted up by the rest of the team. They cheered for a few minutes before setting them down.
"LOGAN PHILLIP MITCHELL!"
Logan turned to see his mom and dad marching across the ice towards him.
