We take a close look at some recent "research" presented on youtube by Thefirstbillyjack. The video makes the case that when a researcher claims "undeniable" evidence is found, without producing corroborating evidence, it is a "jumping the shark"' moment.
Some will claim this is a personal attack, or Bigfoot politics. Neither would be correct. It is an attempt to point out serious flaws in how some conduct and portray their research. Presenting undeniable Bigfoot evidence, without undeniable proof, is one of the many reasons BF Research is scoffed at and made fun of by the scientific community along with a vast portion of the general public, which are both crucial pieces in helping us solve this mystery.

Our research is not perfect or scientifically correct most of the time, but if it's nothing else, it is honest.
If or when evidence is found and there is even the smallest likelihood that points to something rather than Bigfoot, it can not be labeled as Bigfoot evidence. If one thinks they are finding BF evidence, then it's extremely important to test that theory in some manner. Simply videographing structures or formations and then walking away, will never be considered evidence of Bigfoot until data shows the creatures are actually causing the phenomenon.

If you are not familiar with his research you can go to his channel to learn more. Please, do not attack Thefirstbillyjack by making personal remarks towards him. We don't condone that type of behavior. If you think he's doing a great job tell him that. If you think his research could be better, tell him that too, but please be civil about it. Nasty remarks aren't going to get the matter resolved. He's not out there trying to hoax anything that we know of. His major flaw is how he presents and labels evidence. We commend his desire and passion for getting out in the field, but we simply can no longer condone his presentation of evidence.

  • i'm sure ed is a great guy but his preconceptions on sticks, and sounds, just the things he says in his videos are just ignorant of the facts. i use to subscribe to his channel but it got so frustrating watching them and having a few comments i made deleted that i unsubscribed. there are true unbiased researchers on youtube and those few are the ones i watch. ed is convenced every leaning stick or every bird call is a bigfoot, can't take a guy like that seriously. hope you'll debunk others too.

  • @jda1961

We do plan on making more videos pointing out absurd claims and obvious mislabeling of evidence. In FBJ's case, it was so obvious that anyone could have pointed out what we did. You don't have to be a BF researcher to see what he was doing. We hear from people all the time about how unhappy they are with the antics some of the people on youtube are using to hype BF. As you can see from the comments on this video, we're going to have to take some of the mudslinging as a result.

  • We think it's worth it if it restores some credibility, even if it's a miniscule amount, back into the research. Many others are doing far more intensive and quality research than we are. We are appreciative of that and are doing what we can in our own way to bolster the research in general. Calling out the obvious is a great place to start.

  • You know, I agree with all your points, but could you be a little less arrogant and snotty?

  • This guy is clearly delusional.

  • You can't walk up on anything...and claim its Bf related. I don't care what it is. We are struggling to document the animal itself, let alone intangible things that MAY be related to this animal. Like stick structures. Until someone can film a squatch making a stick structure, its only guessing if they actually do this. To outright claim the structure you, or anyone found, is undeniable proof...is absurd.

  • Lie on the last Abe didnt post that an i dont have anything to do with the MNBRT other than great podcast

  • Yes, had he gotten closer he would have known. As I said, in SOME ways he has improved. And if you read my other comments here you know it is the way this was done that bothers me, not actually the points that were made.

  • if he'd just walked up to it he'd known it was a porcupine, instead he put out the crap we see to intice viewers or those that don't know any better into thinking he's on to something. and there are a lot of others doing the same things. i just don't watch them, they never really show anything so they make it up. not sure why.

  • (They say we are taking this personal and attacking TFBJ) The latter don't really have in mind what is best for the research and discovery of this animal, only that they get the entertainment of watching. To them YouTube has become another cable channel and watching people like TFBJ is like watching an episode of Monster Quest. They are basing everything upon their feelings and emotions, rather than the ethics and heart of the matter.

  • @Gene I think there are those that want to see BF research conducted in hopes to see this animal discovered, and agree in order for that to happen, it needs to be done in a certain way. (These people tend to agree with what we are doing here) And there are those that just like to watch people do research, to them it doesn't matter how the research is conducted or really what evidence is found, whether authentic or not, they get entertainment watching someone else do it.

  • @TheBigfootkiller Ahhh yes, the elephant in the room is finally exposed. FBJ often times has claimed he has almost died while conducting these extremely hazardous missions, yet his viewers and friends tell him to get back out there and do it again. It's actually somewhat disturbing when you think about it.
