The set up is seen in the video. I did this with a cheap house cue on an 8ft table. The cue ball did not touch the rail. Warning, Masse shots damage your felt, cue, balls and slate. Learn how to jump and masse on a cheap table that way you do not damage your own.

  • Teaching someone to do a masse shot is as difficult as shooting the shot itself. The best analogy is to pretend you are shooting the shot on an imaginary downward table at about 65 degrees slope. It takes lots of practice, chalk, felt, a few tips and maybe a cue or shaft to get it down right. You are hitting down and through the cue ball, strength, speed and follow through only come with time and practice. This is vague, but it is true.

  • how to do got damn do that? i play pool and i want to know! PLEASE MAKWE ANOTHER MOVIE AND LET EVERYONE SEE WHICH AREA OR WHICH POINT TO HIT MAN!!!!!!!!! :p

  • I've seen your videos many, many times and impressed with your skill level--you've obviously been playing for a while . . . or . . . you're a prodigy, but which ever the category, you're damn good. Keep sending the vids!

As an older, yet beginning player, I'm soaking in every piece of knowledge available. I'm just now tampering with the masse and it's a bitch not to mention the wear on the clothe. Even with an extra piece of felt between the cue ball, I'm still leaving burn marks.

    Thanks!

  • anyone can do that with a rail haha and no you dont idiot i can masse on anytable you throw me on except shitty felt tables

  • you usually need a heated bed table to do masse shots. but it also helps alot if the weather is hot and humid. hot and humid is great for masse shots.

  • You should have a leather tip - preferably a medium or soft tip for a masse, and very hard tip for breaking and jumping the ball.

  • i have a cheap cue as well but have a old wood tip but i have shaped it does the material of the tip mater ??? w/b

  • well said dude! thats how i felt when someone asked me to teach them masse shots.

  • how do you do masse shots?
