Don't let the retards bring you down...

Why move out of range of kick by stepping inside and still block it. And, generally, blocking kicks is not wise. Independent of that, however, during the time of blocking, attacker is free to attack with another weapon. It would be interesting to see this gentleman function against attacks that were not choreographed. That is an appropriate request if one is going to frame Aikido as viable in self defense applications.

0:27: was he using his Ki/Chi? He didn't even touch his opponent...!!

kicks and punches. they will come at you either vertically or horizontally. just get out of the way and strike back(atemi).
the wonders of aikido-you can do anything you want to a technique. however you want to execute it is up to you.

Shihan is a very rare title, which Tissier Sensei has earned, but anyone of intellectual status, including scientists, may be called sensei. The kicking techniques are taught, but only serve as a component of ukemi, and I haven't seen much keridori at all.

I have always been told that samurai teachings very rarely included kicks since they are hard to perform and probably less effective with and against the samurai armour. This is why kicks are rare in aikido. I practice aikido myself and one has also to realize that one of the weak spots of aikido is when it comes to kicks and defence against them.

First of all, Christian Tissier is Shihan (not sensei), and Mawashi geri and Mae geri are teached in Aikido. Et puis je présume que tu est Francais, donc si tu pratiques l'aikido, pour y avoir participé, je te conseille fortement de faire un des stage nationaux avec Christian Tissier et tu reviendra dire ici ce que tu en penses

Well, kicks are basic program for 1st Dan graduation.
If you remember: Aikido is based on Samurai combat techniques ... which includes kicks. All old style Aikido schools had kicks ... they are only out of fashion in our days.

If we always did what was "traditional" the art would never grow. As much as I like budo, the traditional way isn't the only way to do things.
Amazingly stupid for a 7th Dan Sensei.
Aikido is Aikido not Street Fighter...
