I'm a Subaru tech in Alaska and have seen every 08 sti blow up, stock and modified. It's the ring land on the piston because the factory didn't give the rings enough clearance when they expand. So... Over time engine goes boom! Look it up. We just replaced the block( and heads if damaged) under warranty. Nothing charged to customer.

@rextuner03 egg-zak-lee right bro! Subarus all wayyy better all around performing cars than the evo's, evo's are built kinda cheap if u ask me, they rattle and the inside is horrific, Subaru powa all the way, best sounding cars on the road

@242DEE If memory serves correct isn't the 4G64 was an N/A motor right? If so you would have to then buy forged internals for that because the pistons and crank wouldn't handle the high boost. But then also you would have to stroke it to keep the compression down for that too. Putting a 2.0L head on a 2.3 - 2.4L motor raises the compression a bit. And you do know that symmetrical AWD is literally THE best awd right? Not trying to be a smart ass but look it up. It's AMAZING.

@rextuner03 actually its realy easy you just put a 4g64 block under a 4g63 head and Mitsubishis awd system one of the best actually it sends torque to the wheels that need it the most

@242DEE Lol ok sorry I have to stop you there. You mean to tell me you can improve half a liter of displacement on a stroker kit? The absolute biggest you can go is 2.3 in extreme cases. But 2.5? Nope. And I am not trying to say that EVO's are bad cars. I could never say that just that when it comes to an all rounder they can't beat a subaru. They don't have symmetrical AWD and they kinda suck for a road car. They are good but not great.

@rextuner03 ACTUALLY THE MOST DISPLACMENT AN EVO COULD GET IS 2.5L on a stroker kit and who cares the subaru still steers why did it take subaru  2 years to make a 2011 car that can match the evo9 handling

@242DEE Time and time again they have been compared and the field is pretty much split in two on them. The most displacement an EVO could ever get to is 2.2L while a subaru can go to 2.7 with a stroker kit. And the subaru only understeers if you don't set the DCCD to more power in the rear. If you set it to more rear power then problem solved. Come on what else you got lol

and evos can go bigger displacement to but enough about motors lets talk about handling LOL the evo has more coring speed and it doesn't under steer it over steers but overall the evos the better car it handles better takes and takes mods better the subaru is a better dd thanks to the suspension the interior might be better on the wrx i think otherwise and the wrx is safer that's it

@rextuner03 thats on stock internals though put 15k in both of the engines and same mods and the 4g63 will come out on top + the 4g63 block is cast iron
