Holy Spirit in Church: Live Worship at St. Mary's, Marylebone/London (UK) ~ Part 1 of 2

Easter Sunday, my friend, Yuxuan, and I went to this great church in northwest London. It's part of the Anglican Church of England with the infusion of Holy Spirit-gifts and a bit of the more traditional parts of that church denomination--really a beautiful mix, in my opinion. St. Mary's is a great church to visit if you are looking for a refreshing change or just refreshment in the Spirit.

The preaching, what they call the "talk", is different each week with the speaker addressing the common, day-to-day struggles of faith in life, and life in faith. Someone comes forth and reads a prayer that they have written from their heart. There is also a time during the service for the spiritual gifts to be shared with the body in order to encourage, edify, and comfort. I've been there about 6 visits, and I can truly say that no two services have been the same.

What makes up a Spirit-filled church versus a church that is not Spirit-filled? I think the difference is in how people give room for the Holy Spirit to move. Its definitely not in hype, nor in fleshly displays that people have learned over the years. I believe the real evidence is in the way people are changed, ministered to, and challenged. Doctrine can't shape our lives nor really change/impact it. What **IS** needed is the Holy Spirit. Theology without the Holy Spirit is a poison. Many theologians won't like that statement, but its true.

Yeah, you may be right. The thing is, my friend had just come out of a dry, lifeless church. So capturing him in deep worship was a great moment.  His name is silverwolfalpha, btw.

I'm not sure who the worship leader is, but he did a great job. That's St. Mary's church, btw. Hehe. If you show this to him, please insist I meant no harm in presenting this.
