Close your eyes, open your ears and heart to listen to this. It's amazing.

This is actually quite nice.

The first time I heard this performance, I hated it. This time I'm only hearing, not watching, and I like it better. sprund2010 was right about Lang and the 2nd Rhapsody but out of fairness, only Yuja Wang has come close to doing the Horowitz transcriptions justice. No one else has had the same barnstorming, caution-to-the-winds attitude that Volodya brought to them. But give this performances a few listens and see what you think from there.

Who cares about opinion. Music as an ectopic flux of info for the brain acts such another sense. Musical sense variates, is totally normal. If someone dislike the Lang performances there is another pianist very recognized. This guy know the tempos, know the notes, have skills and never fall into a finger fail. Emphatizing the notes which his fingers and cerebral cortex and amigdala orders. There is no problem. In Aristothelic terms Its called vituosity and it may cause controversy...

2:15 jizzed in my pants
Um... didn't the fellow who wrote this piece throw himself around at the keyboard and even pretend to faint on occasion? I don't like histrionics at the piano and Lang Lang has created some real monstrosities (eg. his awful attempt at the Horowitz version of the 2nd Hungarian Rhapsody) but I have to admit that this performance of Don Juan is amazing. Such explosive power and control and freedom. Credit where credit is due.

@RAINZHOU09, I close my eyes just about every time when I listen to this guy. And it only reassures me each time that I'm quite comfortable with holding the opposing opinion. Maybe you should open your ears?
