She must be a center of your home life, and she must dominate in your relationship. No loud music, voices, noises. Your voice must very calm, music very quiet in the background.

Aww Fuzzybutt is just adorable. I HAD to comment. I'm so proud of you for taking him in and making him better, what a wonderful thing. I have had a rescue before and he was in terrible feather condition when I received him. I nursed him back to top health and feather condition.
Ignore the negative comments, we all receive them. All that matters is that you know what you are doing and it shows in the love that FuzzyButt is giving you. He's a handsome chap, and a personality to match.. bless him!

Fuzzybutt :)
our adopted grey is a feather plucker, a soft spray from a bottle with nothing said when you see him pluckin. a shower once a wk.for 15 min or so just leave the bathroom and let him soak. and preen bath@petsmart comes in a spray bottle. "has oils" and best of all a hut so he can hide and stick his head out. they are hermit type birds. they feel vunerable to everything. come to my website and let us know. they are so amazingly smart

Oh Excellent advice! I do spray him a lot more when it's warm, but I am definitely going to look for the preen bath! The 'hermit' is also something that at first scared me since that behavior isn't like some other parrots or conures. At night he likes to have me actually wrap him in a blanket with room enough to move around in and he DOES like to go under and behind his cage too! THANK YOU! Your advice is duly noted!!!

FuzzyButt's previous owner had him sent to me because he'd been severely mutilating for a long time. He had NO feathers except on the top of his head then. He has been examined by a specialist (and continues to be) but permanent damage can never be restored though the feathers he now has enables him to fly again. He cannot be caged and will not be because his mutilation was behavior oriented. He no longer mutilates but will always appear 'bare' in most places, but to me he is beautiful!
