S Africa police tackle anti-foreigner violence - 22 May 2008

Politicians are blaming the police in South Africa for not stopping attacks on foreigners. The ruling African National Congress party hit out after at least 42 immigrants were beaten and burned to death. Poor black South Africans accuse the foreigners of keeping them unemployed by taking their jobs. Al Jazeera's Kalay Maistry reports on the latest from Johannesburg.

Well well well, so this is the new South Africa. I am so disappointed in the behavior of the people who hate so deeply that the kill to quench there thirst fueled & ignated by envy. I am sorry but I don't believe this is about politics, eventhough the SA govt is just standing by and watching there people senselessly kill other human beings legally or illegally in SA. If you ain't getting hired in your country it's obviously because you are not a better candidate, it's just that simple...

Well folks, the only other continent so starkly divided up is Europe. If its any consolation, they drew these boundaries 50 years ago. Europe(and 70 or so countries) were at war with each other for roughly 800 years. Rome fell about 1000B.C, and then Europe was at war until 1950. The worst part was probably the first 400 years though.

I am a Congolese and I am an African. I don't like the way South African Blacks are approaching this problem and I am not surprised by their savage attitude. However we must remember that South Africa is not our country. It is in Africa, but it belongs first of all to all South Africans. We have to take responsibiliy for our own countries and our governments are to blame for destroying our countries. That's the truth.
