Leonard Maltin doesn't know what he's Talking about,Temple of Doom was an Excellent film riveting with action/Suspense and overall an Enjoyable and Entertaining movie.

Also the Mine cart roller coaster scene was pure genius on Spielberg's part.

This was the best Indiana Jones film in my view. The style of the film was intriguing and dark. Very different than raiders.

I think a big part of the problem with Doom was the first film set such a high standard to follow. And it does have it flaws. The chinese douchebags are never punished? The unecessary scary stuff like evil indy that freaked me out as a kid, the overall dark tone that doesn't fit the light hearted romp we are looking for, etc. It is a good movie, but it is not a good indiana jones movie.
