Sunday marked the 44th anniversary of the Six Day war of June 1967, when Israeli air and ground forces launched an attack on three Arab countries; Egypt, Jordan, and Syria.


On the third day of the Israeli aggression, East Jerusalem Al-Quds was occupied, and by June 10 Israel completed the occupation of Palestine and took control of the Syrian Golan Heights and the entire Sinai Peninsula.

The Arabs have termed this tragedy; Naksa Day or the day of setback.

Hundreds of Palestinian demonstrators marked Naksa Day, by attempting to march through the Israeli manned checkpoint of Qalandia which separates Jerusalem al-Quds and the city of Ramallah. They were met with rubber coated steel bullets and tear gas. Over 50 Palestinian demonstrators were injured.

Elsewhere in and around East Jerusalem Al-Quds, the Israeli army confronted Palestinian activists in the Village of Eassawiya and in Alwaljej. Thirteen Palestinians were arrested and at least one Israeli police was injured.

Palestinians say, each year they mark Naksa to show their resistance to the Israeli occupation and to keep the pressure on Israel to end its long occupation of Palestinian land.
Inspired by the revolutions that are sweeping the Middle East, observers say Palestinians are getting a sense of hope that liberation from Israel's brutal and bloody occupation is near.

The brutality of Israeli soldiers we see in this video will mercifully end, come September, when Palestine will be recognized as a sovereign nation bound by the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Until then, unfortunately, the brutality will continue. The shooting of unarmed Palestinians, the illegal occupation of Palestine, and the daily oppression and humiliation of Palestinians at the checkpoints, have transformed Israel into the third most despised nation of the Planet.
