"All public employees should have one level of insurance," Knight said, adding that public employees should have health coverage that is no better than what private employees have. He also told lawmakers that he supports a 5 percent wage cut for every public employee in Michigan.
What Knight failed to mention is that the LCC administration chose a higher level of benefits, while college employees bargained a PPO plan with a higher drug card and higher deductible. They don't have the same benefits he does.
As a part time adjunct faculty at LCC I have no health care coverage option available to me. It seems President Knight did not have all the facts when he stated that he enjoys the same health care coverage as all other LCC employees.

I work 30hrs a week in a "part time adjunct" position doing full time work. The only "benefits" I receive in, addition to monetary compensation, are TWELVE hours of sick time per semester. I don't have a copay because I don't have health insurance. I am part of the 80% of employees at Lansing Community College who have ZERO coverage.
