We had our first "Linux Lab Open House" today. This was an opportunity for students, teachers, administrators and staff members to stop by and check out our 'new' Linux Lab. While the lab and the Linux operating system certainly are new, the computers are not. Instead of purchasing new computers, we re-used these circa 2002 IBM desktops for use in this space. This move also fits in with our tech departments mission to deploy eco-friendly technology solutions. This video is a short clip of our system software engineer and help desk support specialist, Adam Contois, giving a demo of the operating system to about 10 people in attendance of our open house.
